June 23, 2000 Ladder officially launched with the completion of games 001 and 006. May 29, 2000 Originally created by someone whose name I can't remember1, the Advanced Civilization Ladder was transferred to LeadEaters shortly after I joined it. Some time later, the Ladder Duke as he was then called resigned and, because I was the player with the highest standing on the ladder, I was offered the position. I am still holding it despite the fact that it's been renamed Ladder Commander since and despite the, slightly more annoying, fact that LeadEaters doesn't have an Advanced Civilization Ladder any more2. As a number of games that I had helped set up are nearly completed, I have decided that the time was right to re-create the Advanced Civilization Ladder on my own site. 1: If you recognize yourself, send me a mail and I'll give you proper credit. If you prefer to remain anonymous, let the record show that I thank you anyway. 2: Following the crash of their database in October 1999, LeadEaters lost all records of completed games and decided to rebuild the ladders from the ground up.
