The proper release: 1.11b1

The latest patch released officially by Avallon Hill for Advanced Civilization brings the game to release 1.1. Unfortunately, a number of problem with release 1.1 makes it unsuitable for play by E-mail games. Avalon Hill release an unofficial (beta) patch that corrects those defects and changes the release number to 1.11b1. Even though this patch was not release officially yet, all games sanctionned by the ladder must use it.

Instructions

1. Install Advanced Civilization from the CD-Rom.
2. Get the release 1.1 patch from Avalon Hill's patch site. Be sure to select the patch that corresponds to your CD-Rom (1.00 or 1.01). The patch consists of a zip file.
3. Unzip the file in the directory where you installed AdvancedCivilization.
4. Execute the command patch ht100_11 (or patch ht101_11) in that same directory.
5. Get the release 1.11b1 patch and unzip in in the same directory.
6. Repeat this procedure if you have installed Advanced Civilization in more than one directory.
